Personalised Grazing & Chopping Boards — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our custom laser engraved boards, from materials and sizing to ordering and care.
What wood are the boards made from?
All LaserGrafix grazing and chopping boards are made from premium natural beech wood — a tight-grained, food-safe hardwood used in professional kitchens worldwide. Beech is harder and more durable than bamboo or pine, and its fine, consistent grain produces exceptionally crisp laser engravings.
Are the boards food safe?
Yes. Beech wood is naturally food-safe and non-porous when properly maintained. All boards are finished without any chemical coatings — just natural timber, ready to use straight from the box. We recommend a light coat of food-grade mineral oil before first use.
What can I have engraved on my board?
Almost anything — names, surnames, monograms, dates, quotes, logos, illustrations, portraits, and custom designs. If you have artwork or a specific idea in mind, send it to info@lasergrafix.au and we'll confirm it before engraving. We can also work from our existing design gallery if you'd prefer to choose a ready-made style.
Will the engraving fade or wash off?
No. Laser engraving is a permanent process — it removes material from the surface of the wood rather than adding ink or paint. The design is physically part of the board and cannot fade, peel, chip, or wash off with normal use and cleaning.
What sizes do you offer?
We currently offer two sizes:
Small — Classic Chopping Board: 28 × 20 × 1.5 cm — from $24.95
Large — Grazing Board with Handle: 39 × 24 × 1.5 cm — $34.95
The large board includes an integrated handle for easy carrying from bench to table.
Are the boards reversible?
Yes. Both boards are reversible — one side is your everyday prep and chopping surface, the other is the engraved presentation side. This means the board is genuinely functional in the kitchen and looks stunning on the table.
How do I care for my engraved board?
Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap — do not put in the dishwasher
Dry immediately after washing; do not leave standing in water
Apply food-grade mineral oil or a beeswax board cream every few months
Avoid harsh cleaning products or prolonged soaking
With regular oiling, your board will stay in excellent condition for many years.
How long does production and delivery take?
All boards are made to order. Production typically takes 2–4 business days, after which standard Australia Post shipping applies. Express shipping is available at checkout for faster delivery.
Do you offer bulk or corporate orders?
Yes. We offer bulk pricing on large orders for corporate gifting, restaurant branding, wedding favours, and event catering. Contact us at info@lasergrafix.au with your quantity, artwork, and required delivery date and we'll provide a quote.
Can I supply my own design or logo?
Absolutely. Send your artwork to info@lasergrafix.au in PNG, SVG, PDF, or AI format at the highest resolution available. We'll confirm engraveability before proceeding. If you don't have a file, describe what you'd like and we can assist with design for a small additional fee.
Do you ship outside Australia?
We primarily serve Australian customers but can discuss international orders. Contact us directly at info@lasergrafix.au for international shipping quotes.
What if there's a problem with my order?
If your board arrives damaged or the engraving doesn't match what you ordered, contact us at info@lasergrafix.au within 7 days of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right. See our full Returns Policy for details.
